First United Bank & Trust presents Friends Aware with their annual donation to the Capital Campaign – “Building Independence” Capital Expansion Project.  This campaign is the next phase in providing exceptional services for individuals with developmental disabilities. It will allow for handicap-accessible upgrades, as well as much-needed training and vocational facility expansion.

Philip L. Rodeheaver, market president for Allegany, Garrett and Mineral Counties, commented, “Our associates have been community partners with Friends Aware for years.  Members of our staff have served on the Board of Directors, as well as assisted in various fund-raising efforts.  It just seems fitting that we continue our strong history of giving financially to this expansion and upgrades to facilities that truly serve our community!”

Robert Godfrey, executive director of Friends Aware, Inc., expressed his gratitude, stating, “First United has long stood as a partner with Friends Aware in the provision of services to people with developmental disabilities.  We appreciate their generous role in our recent capital campaign as well as their work on our behalf each and every day.”
