First United Bank & Trust has made an annual contribution of $12,000 to the Financial Literacy programs of Garrett County Community Action Committee.  The mission of the Garrett County Community Action Committee is to improve the quality of life for people in need by providing essential services and opportunities in collaboration and cooperation with their partners.  The agency offers both financial education workshops and one-to-one counselling in an effort to assist low-income families and individuals in becoming more financially self-sufficient.
