First United Bank & Trust is now accepting entries as part of the American Bankers Association Foundation’s annual Lights, Camera, Save! video contest.  Lights, Camera, Save! is a national contest that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of sound money management.

Teen participants, aged 13 to 18 years of age, will create a 90-second video that demonstrates the importance of using money wisely and will submit the video to your local First United Bank & Trust community office.  First United will be accepting entries through November 26, 2018.

Lights, Camera, Save! gives local students an opportunity to harness their creativity, learn about using money wisely and communicate those lessons with their peers,” said Carissa L. Rodeheaver, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer at First United.  “A strong financial education is critical to a successful future and we are thrilled to participate in a contest that reinforces that message.”

First United will judge the first round and select a local winning student to compete on the national level for several awards, including a grand prize of $5,000, plus a scholarship for a teacher at their school to attend the 2018 Jump$tart National Educator Conference.  In addition, the local winner will be awarded $500 directly from First United Bank & Trust.

Videos will be judged on their quality, message, content and the criteria set forth by the contest’s official rules.  Students interested in Lights, Camera, Save! can learn more about the contest at https://www.MyBank.com/blog/lights-camera-save or contact First United’s Jason VanSickle, Director of Strategic Growth, at 1-301-533-2232 or email him at jvansickle@MyBank.com for more information.
