The Maryland Banking School recently announced that Blake S. Walker, Commercial Relationship Manager for First United Bank & Trust, was awarded the Lilian T. Moffat Award for the 2017 session.

The Moffat award was created in honor of Lilian Moffat, a longtime MBA staff member who served the banking industry and Association for 27 years.  She was the devoted registrar and administrator for the Banking School from its inception in 1975 until her retirement in 1986.  It is proudly awarded to the student who consistently presented excellent coursework while serving as an outstanding leader and role model for their fellow students.

Joshua C. Bosley, Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager-Team Leader commented, “This recognition exemplifies Blake’s strong work ethic and accelerated growth within our organization and industry.  His dedication to the customers and communities he serves can be seen daily, making him a true asset of the Bank.”

Blake began his financial services career in 2011 at First United Bank as a Pool Teller.  After graduating from Frostburg State University, he was quickly promoted to Community Office Manager and then to Commercial Relationship Manager.  He is actively involved in and passionate about helping in the community.  Currently, he is a member of the Grantsville Town Council and the Greater Grantsville Business Association.  He is also a member of the Grantsville Lions Club and is President of the Grantsville Revitalization Organization.
